Patrick’s affiliation with Sutton Coldfield Golf Club started back in 1991 when he worked as an Assistant Professional with his mentor and, soon to be great, friend, long time Club Professional, Jerry Hayes when he embarked on his PGA training to become the professional he is. After 7 years with the Club, he continued his passion of golf coaching and gained valuable experiencing working in Holland for 4 years, and 9 years in Spain.
On returning to England, he worked with Robert Rock at his Golf Academy, and over the next 3 years, gained yet more valuable knowledge, benefitting from exposure to some of the top players in the country.
Patrick also achieved great satisfaction from being able to bring on the Junior Section. In 2015 Patrick came ‘home’ to Sutton Coldfield Golf Club, bringing the knowledge he had been fortunate enough to acquire from his experiences over the previous years.
In 2019 a major refurbishment of the Club resulted in the relocation of the professional shop to a stand – alone building, formerly the Ladies Clubhouse, where he was able to customise the internal space significantly to suit the specific requirements of a busy and fitting golf shop, with the space to accommodate new brands of clothing and equipment, including Ping, Mizuno, Cobra and Wilson and increased the stock of ladies sport clothing. Whilst it is not all about sales, you will be pleasantly surprised at the prices.
Most significantly, the professional shop now has the space to include a state-of-the-art golf simulator. This amazing piece of technology not only allows you to practice your swing on some of the most famous courses in golf, it also offers swing and club speed analysis of the highest order.
You are always guaranteed a warm welcome whether you want to discuss your latest trials and tribulations in your game, or just want to peruse one of the many golf books in the ‘golf library’ located within.
Here at Sutton Coldfield Golf Club, Patrick adds to our main aim of giving the highest service to both Members and visitors.
