Sutton Coldfield Ladies

First, I wish you a very warm welcome from Sutton Coldfield Ladies.

The ladies are an active and friendly group, catering for golfers of all abilities from beginners to serious golfers. We want you to get the most out of our Club by improving your golf and making new friends whilst having some fun.

Ladies’ day is Tuesday. The competition diary provides a wide variety of serious and casual formats to suit all handicaps and abilities. To accommodate working ladies, Alternative Day Medal and Stableford competitions are played on Sunday.

There is also a choice of tees and, with the addition of our new short Purple course, which is ideal for beginners, the course provides for all abilities of golfers.

In addition, more casual, fun games are held regularly on Thursdays, when it is simply a case of finding a partner or two, booking a tee time and turning up to play. You can, of course, make your own arrangements to play at any other time to suit, subject to your membership category. In addition, there are a number of mixed competitions arranged throughout the year which provide the opportunity to integrate with all members of the club.

New golfers are always made to feel welcome and the Club offers a range of competitive and social golf and lessons are available from Patrick Brady our PGA professional. If you are an absolute beginner to golf, we offer support and encouragement to help you gain a handicap, understand the etiquette and become familiar with the rules of golf. Depending on your newness to golf and your ability, the club will provide the necessary support for you to help you get up and running as quickly as possible. We have many success stories at Sutton Coldfield to back up the statement that new ladies are truly welcome and settle in quickly.

In addition, the Club has an active social calendar, with various events throughout the year, including the very popular Ascot Ladies Day in addition to Captain’s Day and an Away Day where we arrange to play another course and have a meal. There is also a thriving Bridge Section offering weekly social bridge sessions, regular bridge drives, duplicate bridge as well as beginners/ improvers lessons.

Kind regards

Ruth Watson
