Sutton Coldfield is one of the rare true heathland courses in the UK, designed by Dr Alister Mackenzie who is most famous for his involvement with the Augusta National Golf Club in the USA, and selected by the English Golf Union as a venue for the English Amateur Championships in 2010

Is one of the most prestigious private members clubs in the Midlands. It was founded in 1889 and the nature of the heathland makes this course one of the best, if not the best, all year free draining course within a radius of 100 miles. Ideal for Winter playing and perfect for a challenging Summer game.
The course is laid out with in the 2,400 acres of Sutton Park and boasts mature oaks and provides tight lines on holes nearer the clubhouse, whilst in mid-round the fairways are more open but fringed with thick gorse and heather. Unusally the 5th, 6th and 7th provide 3 consecutive par-5’s. It’s “Y” shaped layout means that the front and back 9 can provide a very different, testing, but enjoyable experience, on what are described as the best greens in the Midlands.
